Fresh Asparagus with Lemon
(makes 12 servings)
| 3 | pounds (1.4 kg) fresh asparagus, trimmed |
| 1/3 | cup (80 ml) fresh lemon juice |
| 1 | tablespoon (15 ml) finely grated lemon zest |
| freshly ground pepper to taste |
- Place the asparagus in a steamer basket over a pot of simmering water. Steam, covered, until tender, about 7 minutes. Drain.
- Sprinkle with lemon juice and lemon zest. Season with pepper and serve at once.
