A home economist with graduate work in dietetics, Frances is a member of the International Wine, Food, & Travel Writers Association (WF&TWA), The American Diabetes Association (ADA), and the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP). She was diagnosed as having type 2 diabetic in 1986.

publisher/editor: Bonnie Sanders Polin, Ph.D. -- co-author of the Joslin Diabetes Gourmet Cookbook, winner of the James Beard Cookbook Award for healthy focus and nominee for the Julia Child Cookbook Award, The Joslin Diabetes Quick & Easy Cookbook (Fireside/Simon & Schuster), and The Joslin Diabetes Healthy Carbohydrate Cookbook. A retired psychologist specializing in children and adults with chronic diseases, Bonnie is co-founder of a diabetes clinic for the working poor at Project Get Together and a frequent speaker for the ADA and Interim Healthcare on issues of health care and nutrition for diabetics. She serves as a member of the board of directors for the American Diabetes Association, Children's Services Leadership Board, Dillon International, Interim Health Care, and Project Get Together. She has had type 1 diabetes since 1982.

Giedt and Polin are now working on their fourth cookbook for the Joslin Diabetes series, a hardcover cover cookbook to be published by Simon & Schuster in 2002.

Tammi Hancock, R.D. : With eleven years experience working with diabetics at the Mayo Clinic and in private practice, Tammi does the nutritional analysis for all diabetic-lifestyle.com and diabetic-recipes.com recipes using software provided by "The Food Processor", Version 6.02 by ESHA Research.

Gerald Mark Polin, M.D. : Board certified in child psychiatry and psychiatry and a newly-retired psychiatrist from Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital, Dr. Polin has specialized in eating disorders and behavioral medicine which often plays a role in the treatment of diabetes and juvenile diabetes.

Christopher G. Zitnay, M.D. : A type 1 diabetic practicing endocrinology in Virginia. Dr. Zitnay is board certified in Internal Medicine, and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
