Welcome back to www.diabetic-lifestyle.com and www.diabetic-recipes.com our two award winning web sites which we hope will educate you about how to live the healthiest and most fulfilling life with diabetes. If you live with a person with diabetes, either type 1, 2, or gestational we have articles on all aspects of daily living from exercise to the latest research. You’ll find daily menus based on different calorie per day diets and information about the long and short term side effects in our What’s Hot section. There you’ll also find that most important information you ask about you or a loved when first diagnosed. Many of you write in about nutritional guidelines and these are also included on the site. Children with diabetes have their own articles for everything from legal rights to healthy snacks. Aside from all of this information, we also have hundreds of recipes and menus for every meal of the day. All of our recipes have been home tested by us; our families can attest to the successes and failures. You can’t imagine how difficult it is to make up recipes that fit into the guidelines of the ADA and still taste good enough to serve to your most discriminating guests and relatives. In fact, we began writing cookbooks because we both have diabetes and wanted to make sure that all of friends and relatives could eat at our tables and we would not feel “different” at the table. We all eat well!

We are very proud. As you may know those of us with diabetes have a significantly higher risk of developiong heart disease than those without diabetes so taking care of those vessels, arteries and the heart is certainly in our best interests.
